When you and your husband have different Styles!

My husband and I couldn’t be further apart when it comes to Styling our home, so our solution is to give each other sections of our house that are our own, but I’m not sure this is the right decision, however this is how we have divided.

His rooms/areas

1: Theater/Man Cave

2: Garage

3: Back Yard

My Rooms/Areas

1: Master Bedroom

2: Formal Lounge

3: Guest Room

4: Entry and Hall

Combined Areas

1: Laundry

2: Kitchen and Scullery

3: Bathrooms

4: Spare Room/Future Nursery (when it becomes that it will then be my style)

I’m not sure this will work though as we will obviously be using all areas together at some stage or another so I’m trying to compromise on Style where I can, my Style choice for the Master and Formal Lounge is Art Deco/Hollywood Glam, but I need to make sure it’s not too girly as I want him to feel comfortable in the space also. So I’m going to try and do it but incorporate deep colours that will appeal to us both, like dark blue in the bedroom, which I have heard is good for sleep, which is a bonus. I do want to add touches of Gold throughout which can be girly, however I will be adding in other metallics to keep it from being to girly. I’m hoping that when he sees it coming together he will love it and we can compromise on things as we go, I’ll keep you updated on the arguments that are sure to come LOL, the current one is that I want a small pool in the backyard and he is like “the backyard is mine, NO”, but we will see. HEHEHE.

He has always said he doesn’t care what things look like as long as they function so I don’t see why I can’t have what I want that will make me Happy and I’m sure him happy also.
